my aunt, who took this picture of me, entered it in a contest and here it is hanging with the honorable mention award and other photos that made it to this round of judging.

i find it interesting that all the other models are flashy and trying to grab attention; and then there's just me right there with nothing to draw attention to me except for a beautiful background and a mysterious smirk ;) but i think i stand out because of that.

there's a quote from an article my friend sent me a long time ago that i have posted up above my dresser; it's been very inspirational for me. it says, "It takes a special kind of insight, intuition, and knowledge to know how to play up your individual physical gifts with subtlety, dignity, and a touch of mystery."

this photo hanging with the others kinda confirms for me that there is a matchless, mysterious beauty that can be achieved through modesty.
