hello hello.

I have a few things to write about.

The first has to do with some of my favorite song lyrics by Ingrid Michaelson:
we don't say a word
there is nothing to say
that hasn't been heard

The best moments are when I sing that in my head because that's how it is between my mom & I. When I was younger I tended to keep all my thoughts to myself and rarely talked to my parents about serious matters; it was awkward for me and I avoided it as much as possible. It ended up making me feel all twisted up inside and only caused trouble for me. The process of coming out of that state, when I was 11/12/13 years old was painful at times... there were tears shed and insults felt and words were still held back. But not quite so many. Over the years there have been more and more words spoken, and this past year I've sung in my head those words that I mentioned during moments of letting it all out, and it's been beautiful. There have also been moments this year where I've thought "we don't say a word; but there is everything to say that hasn't been heard." But most recently I've been singing the original lyrics to myself and I really really really want to keep it that way. To anyone who doesn't tell talk to your parents much ~ please strive to take steps towards telling them more of what's on your heart and mind... it's invaluable. I would've cringed at somebody telling me this a few years ago, but please just take my word for it and give it a shot... say a prayer for it <3

I went to Youth Camp last week along with over a hundred other teens from church; so so fun. I was on pink team which was so much fun to dress up and accessorize for. I played keys and sang for the worship band; I took a proud 3rd place in the wing eating competition even though I'm not particularly fond of wings; I learned and talked and thought a lot. God moved among us I'm so grateful for the powerful ways that He worked in my friends' hearts, and for the way He prepared me for this upcoming year.

WHICH IS REALLY EXCITING, this upcoming year. I'm gonna be a seeenior... chyes!! I'm starting a Psychology class next week at Delaware Technical Community College... Deltech for short ;) I'm pretty excited for that. I'm also doing easy squeezy math (just to finish up what's required), Economics, German, and English. Plus many-a-musicalactivity... like madrigals and Tri-state Senior Chorale and Homeschool Praise and church choir and hopefully helping out with kids choir at church more and maybe some more worship band for youth group or something. Oh, and piano lessons :) College auditions are 3-4 months away, and I still have lots of work to do on my pieces!

Well, speaking of college... one of my closest friends in the world, Christa Anne, left today to head down to Louisiana, over a thousand miles away, where she's going to college :( This is sad... but it hasn't really sunk in yet. We've pretty much seen each other multiple times a week (with some exceptions, but you know) ever since we first hit it off in 2007. We've had countless long talks, sleepovers, car rides, phone calls... and many many loooong emails. Thankfully, the latter two things mentioned don't have to end :) But yeah... I'll miss her.

To close this scatter-brained post, I'd just like to say... Nathaniel VW is my Baaaby. No questions asked; he just is.
